Taj Mahal became the most visited ticketed monument site in 2024- 2025 as per government record. This record was disclosed by Ministry of Tourism when he held a place in an event of World Tourism Day on September 27, 2025. Department displayed latest compendium report that was issued in financial year of 2024-2025. According to the report, millions of people have visited at Taj along with foreigners and domestic too. Although there are located some more tourist places but visitors were low than Taj. If we talk figures, 9.95 millions visitors have visited in 2024 that increased 4.52 percent as compared 2023.
The grand white marble mausoleum is a historical site that was built by a Mughal king (Shah Jahan) between 1631 and 1648. It was built in memory of his wife Mumtaz. This is located in the Agra and protected by Archeological Survey of India (ASI) and it is UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It rebounded after second lockdown, in 2022, it increased 323.68 percent and touched to 9.95 million visitors in 2024 that was 4.52 percent high from 2023. Indian tourism generated 84.63 millions job direct and indirect along with, it contributed 5.22 percent in our GDP.
